To
my dear, dear friends, and ever-constant, loyal readers,
“A
Prayer For The Computer Age”
Now I lay me down to text
my prayers to, ‘U’, I pray You not be vexed.
But rather with an, LOL and Smiley Face,
please keep me in Your database.
I ask,’U’, please download happiness and pain-free
freedom from despair;
with Your unending bandwidth, please hear my every
prayer.
I also ask—lest I forget,
please wisely guide me through the Internet.
For while I surf the net for hours on end both day
and nights,
please protect me, keep me safe from finding evil,
reprehensive sites.
Please send Your blissful angels bright
to joyous dance upon each gigabyte.
Please send to me Your answers sweet,
foreshortened—even—to a tweet.
No matter whether Microsoft, or Apple, Inc., or even
Packard Bell,
oh mercy—Lord—let Google Search transport me to Your
kingdom, there to dwell.
There—in full forgiven, Lord—I thank you with hosannas,
loud.
In time, to live with, ‘U’, eternal in the Cloud.
Amen.
Please allow me to wish for you NO pain, or,
much-lessened pain, and freedom from wont or despair.
Of quiet, contemplative days, and peaceful evenings,
in full surrounded by family members, friends (and, devoted pets, too!) who
love you for the most wonderful person that you are.
I also wish for you dreamy, balmy nights of blissful
and restorative sleep, kept safe, secure and protected by ever-watchful,
guardian angels.
Please
always know that I think of you so very often, and that I love you dearly!
‘Zahc’/Charles
